Imuno ND^® is an alcohol-free natural hand cleanser. It contains a blend of natural components that act together to reduce disease-causing microorganisms.

Most hand sanitisers and hand cleansers available in the market contain ethanol or other short-chained alcohols. Although alcohols can provide effective antimicrobial action, they also have many drawbacks, such as flammability, quick evaporation from the skin, and the potential to cause allergies. Evidence also suggests that certain pathogen populations are becoming tolerant to alcohol-based handwashing. Because of these limitations, Imuno ND^® was developed as a safe, natural hand cleansing alternative.

The importance of being alcohol-free

Frequent use of alcohol-based formulations for hand
antisepsis tends to cause drying of the skin.
Alcohols are rapidly germicidal when applied, but have no
appreciable persistent (residual) activity.
Alcohols are volatile, and the active concentration of such
components can decrease throughout time as it evaporates
after the container is opened.
Alcohol-based products can cause allergic reactions, either
due to allergy to the alcohol or to an impurity or aldehyde
metabolite. Allergic contact dermatitis or immediate contact
urticarial reactions can also be caused by ethanol or
isopropanol, the two most common alcohols used in
hand sanitisers.
Alcohol-based sanitisers are flammable, posing a threat
when misused or stored under high temperatures.

Ingredients

Benzalkonium Chloride is the active ingredient in Imuno ND^®, used for its antimicrobial effect and ability to inactivate bacteria and viruses. It is a well-tolerated, non-toxic, non-flammable active ingredient that provides protection long after it has dried on skin. It also maintains its effectiveness after the bottle has been opened, unlike alcohol-based gels.
