The FagronLabTM Unguator line of advanced „sweep–wall“ mixing system has accelerated formula developments and increased general production efficiency in preparation of compounding prescriptions, such as ointments, creams, gels, pastes, suppositories, etc.
The FagronLabTM Unguator product assortment also consists of a unique set of “push-up” jars that work specifically with the gako unguator mixing equipment. While no single device can accommodate every formulation in any compounding institution, the use of the FagronLabTM Unguator system offers an entire range of new compounds with consistent quality by replacing many of the traditional tools.
All Unguator® jars operate on the patented “piston-principle” design, which serves unique functions prior, during, and after the mixing process. The Unguator® system is unique in that all ingredients can be weighed into the mixing jar at the same time. The closed environment achieved in the container eliminates the problems of air intake and contaminations associated with traditional preparations.
The jars serve simultaneously as:
• Measuring Unit
• Mixing Chamber
• Storage Container
• Dispensing Jar
Therefore, all materials and ingredients remain in the closed jar throughout the mixing process. The final product represents a consistent, superior blending result with:
• Extended shelf life
• Significant time, cost savings
• Accurate, specific dispensing
• Minimal clean-up
Unguator® jars are made from a durable polypropylene/polyethylene plastic and can be heated in a hot water bath or microwave oven.

The UNGUATOR® Varionozzle 1, 2, 4 mm are inserted into the central opening of the lid. They reduce the opening of the UNGUATOR® jars from 9 mm to 1, 2 and 4mm.
The domed shape offers the smooth application of the product over the skin. This allows for accurate dispensing of all, high to low, viscosity preparations.
For differentiation in size, nozzles are colored as follows
4mm – pink
2mm – yellow
1mm – blue
(Attention: The 4mm opening fits standard syringes to fill precise dosages. All nozzles fit drop bottles for liquids.).

The UNGUATOR® applicators reduce the dispensed amount of low viscosity preparations and are used for precise dispensing of low-viscosity preparations. For ear and nose injections, the short applicator is recommended, while for rectal and vaginal injections, the long applicator is recommended. The applicator long is also used as push assistance to move the bottom of any 200ml jar up and generally serves as a finger extension.

The AirDynamic® pump system consists of a pump ball and jar adapter that are connected by a hose.
By pumping air pressure into the bottom of the 300, 500, 1000ml jars, the moveable bottom rises towards the top and allows the easy dispensing of the formulation from the jar. This also allows for the easy transfer of finished materials from one jar to other jars via the jar coupling.
The large Unguator® Jars are particularly well suited as storage and transfer containers of semi-solid materials as problems with evaporation, oxidation, and contamination are largely avoided.
The jars remain closed throughout the mixing process and the variable volume insert ensures that no air can enter the material during storage and dispensing.
The large Unguator® jars size 300ml-1000ml are particularly well suited as storage and transfer containers of semi-solid materials as problems with evaporation, oxidation, and contamination are largely avoided. The jars remain closed throughout the mixing process and the variable volume insert ensures that no air can negatively impact the formulation during storage and application period.
Unguator coupling
The UNGUATOR® coupling connects larger and smaller jars to serve as transfer nozzle for hygienic dispensing from bulk preparations in the final dispensing containers. The coupling is connected at the center of the jar lid. For dispensing from 300ml and 500ml jars, a spindle or AirDynamic® system may be used.
Please keep in mind that the finished formulation should be transferred shortly after finalizing the mixing process. At that time the product is often still warmer than room temperature and at a lower viscosity than after the cooling process.

Both UNGUATOR® Standard Mixing Blade (SMB) and UNGUATOR® Disposable Blade (disp. blades) are designated as UNGUATOR® MBs.
The UNGUATOR® MBs are steadily guided up and down inside the UNGUATOR® Jar. Their special design results in tight contact between the Mixing Blade and the inside wall of the UNGUATOR® Jar which serves primarily for the comminution of the substances during the mixing process.
Additionally forced mixing in the whole mixing space is achieved through the shape and vibration of substances while preparing the ointment. The lubricating effect of the foundation ointment protects the UNGUATOR® Jars and the UNGUATOR® MB against abrasion. Discolorations of the Mixing Blade are mostly irreversible and therefore harmless.
Unguator Disposable Blade (disp. blades)
The UNGUATOR® disp. blade is compatible to use with all UNGUATOR® devices and are applicable for Unguator jar sizes 15ml-max. 200ml. The disp. blade detaches from the blade shaft after use. The quality of the finished product can be checked by opening the lid. After the mixing process is completed, the disposable blade is located under the main lid and may be removed in full or remain inside the jar.
Several disposable mixing blades are packed each size in a conventional Unguator jars (with green lid) so that when opened, the operator can attach the blade to the mixing shaft by simply inserting the bottom end of the blade shaft tip into the centre of the blade and turning one quarter turn counter clockwise (locking the blade in place).
